11 Mar Collins, McDonald & Gann Celebrates 25 Years with Launch of Philanthropic “25 for 25” Campaign
Collins, McDonald & Gann, the Mineola-based criminal defense law firm founded in 1990 by former Nassau County Assistant District Attorneys Rick Collins, Bob McDonald and Marc Gann, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in March. The firm has represented clients in a number of high profile cases both on Long Island and nationally, and is one of the most established and highly regarded criminal law practices in the New York metropolitan area.
To commemorate the milestone of its 25 year anniversary, Collins, McDonald & Gann ( www.cmgesq.com ) has launched a philanthropic campaign to help the firm “give back” to the local Long Island community. The campaign — “CMG’s 25 for 25” — is a commitment by the firm to host, sponsor or attend 25 charitable events during its anniversary year. The campaign is an opportunity for the firm to make a positive impact on not-for-profit organizations in the New York metropolitan area.
“Through the years, Collins, McDonald & Gann has fought hard to protect the rights of our clients, providing the defense counsel that is so important to so many people throughout the region,” said Marc Gann, who in addition to his role as one of the Founding Partners at Collins, McDonald & Gann also served as the president of the 6,000 member Nassau County Bar Association from 2010–11. “We wanted to find a way to not only commemorate this significant milestone for our firm, but also involve our firm in finding ways to give back in a meaningful way to the community, and we look forward to seeing how organizations and individuals will benefit from our “25 for 25” campaign this year.”
Since its founding, Collins, McDonald & Gann has been committed to supporting a number of both local and national philanthropic causes, including active involvement in WE CARE, the charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. CMG Founding Partner Rick Collins is the creator of “Leap for Life” (a unique multi-city skydiving fundraiser which has raised more than $100,000 for a number of cancer organizations over a three year period, including the American Cancer Society, LIVESTRONG, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and the Long Island-based Strength for Life) and is a member of the philanthropic group the United Mavericks.
In addition to being one of the tri-state area’s most established and well-known criminal defense law firms, Collins, McDonald & Gann has also built a strong reputation as leaders in the area of dietary supplements law and anabolic steroids law. Collins, who heads up the firm’s growing bi-coastal Dietary Supplements Law practice and Anabolic Steroids Law practice, is one of the nation’s foremost legal authorities in the field and has grown these two practice areas to now include a full staff of experienced attorneys offering counsel and assistance to the sports nutrition industry and the bodybuilding, health and fitness communities.
To further mark and celebrate its 25 year anniversary, CMG has also launched a new anniversary logo and will be holding a company celebration later this month. The firm — which has grown to include offices in New York and Los Angeles — has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions throughout the years, including being named multiple times to the list of New York Metro Super Lawyers, and each of the Founding Partners has been awarded the AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from the Martindale-Hubbell directory of lawyers, their highest honor. Each of the Founding Partners also serves as Adjunct Faculty at law schools throughout the region, including Hofstra Law and Touro Law, and they are each active in a number of local and national professional organizations where they have all held leadership roles.
