15 Dec Smart Spotlight: Kathleen Holmes Cates
Problem solving is what Kathleen Holmes Cates, President and CEO of LifeROOTS enjoys most about her role at this 60 plus year old NM not-for-profit. As Kathleen says, “There is no room for whining in the nonprofit world – there is too much work to do!” Her passion for service never tires, and in addition to being a mother of two teenagers, Kathleen is a proud charter member of the Rio Rancho Sunrise Rotary Chapter, where she has worked passionately on many international projects — from building clean water wells in Guatemala to ending polio in the Polio Plus Project.
When asked about her best advice – “Stay engaged and everything you do will have a purpose and meaning. Stay engaged and be brave enough to work for the betterment of your family, community, country and world.” We couldn’t agree more.
