11 Aug Diana McKenzie Reelected; Jeanne Antonuccio, Emily Johnson and Charles Sampson Join HHIEDC Board
The Hilton Head Island Economic Development Corporation (HHIEDC) has reelected Diana McKenzie and elected three new members to the organization’s Board of Directors. The four newly elected HHIEDC Board members are:
- Jeanne Antonuccio. Jeanne Antonuccio is Founder and President of About Pittsburgh, Inc. She and her husband have been full-time Hilton Head residents for four years, having spent the past 25 years vacationing on Hilton Head Island with her family prior to building a Palmetto Hall home five years ago About Pittsburgh is an independent recruitment and relocation consulting company with a mission to help companies attract and retain talent to Pittsburgh, talents that will serve the HHIEDC well.
- Emily Johnson. Emily Johnson is the Founder and Managing Director of Polaris Capital Advisors, LLC and is a principal of Johnson’s Urban Farm, both of which are located on Hilton Head Island. Emily has strong roots in the local HHI business community — her grandparents, parents and Emily all are, or have been, local business owners on the Island. Prior to establishing her owner business, she worked with Merrill Lynch Private Client, UBS and Credit Suisse First Boston. Emily is a graduate of Leadership Hilton Head Island/Bluffton.
- Diana McKenzie. Diana J. P. McKenzie is a Partner with the HunterMaclean law firm, where she chairs the firm’s information technology and outsourcing practice group. She is internationally recognized for her work in information technology and outsourcing matters and is best known for her ability to provide practical, efficient, and strategic legal counsel. The Hilton Head Island Town Council originally appointed Diana to the HHIEDC Board in 2013. She has been a full-time resident of the Town of Hilton Head Island since 2007, and spent many summers vacationing on HHI prior to becoming a resident.
- Charles Sampson. Charles Sampson, a Hilton Head Island resident since 1972, is an Agent/Partner at Charter One Realty. He is actively involved in the community, and has served as the Chairman of the Lowcountry Community Development Corporation and Chairman of the Beaufort County Consortium on Affordable Housing, as well as serving on the Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee. He is a Founding Trustee of the Celebrity Golf Tournament, and has served as a Board Member of a number of other organizations on Hilton Head Island, including the Coastal Discovery Museum and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. A Founding Partner of Charter One North Realty, Sampson has been a REALTOR since 1985 and named REALTOR of the Year in both 1996 and 2004. He is also a Project Coordinator for the REALTOR 6 Habitat for Humanity Blitz Builds, a member of the HHI Bicycling Advisory Committee and a past Neighborhood Association President. Sampson has served in the roles of President (in both 1999 and 2010), Secretary and Treasurer of the Hilton Head Island Association of REALTORS, and has been named a Hilton Head Island Young Man of the Year. He is the 2006 recipient of the Alice Glenn Doughtie Good Citizenship Award, presented by the Hilton Head Island/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.
