26 Jan Smart Spotlight: Sherri Wells
Passion is what drives Sherri Wells – President/Executive Director of the NM Museum of Natural History Foundation – to tell the story of the foundation’s mission. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science preserves and interprets the distinctive natural and scientific heritage of the state through their extraordinary collections, research, exhibits and programs designed to ignite a passion for lifelong learning. A visit to the Museum allows visitors to explore a large variety of natural history topics in a supportive and fun atmosphere where you can travel deep into a volcano, blast off into space, explore the vastness of the universe, learn about the beginning of the personal computer and study the native and earliest inhabitants of New Mexico.
When Sherri is not working or chasing herself around the house, she stays busy as a member of the Museum Collaborative Council, regularly volunteers to help the homeless in Albuquerque and is an honorary member of Kirtland Air Force Base. So actively involved, Sherri still makes time to read and is currently reading Hillbilly Elegy. Her son, co-workers, seeing people succeed and faith inspire her most.
The best advice Sherri has ever received? “Expect the best from everyone and you will get it.”
